May 26--28 is the next date. The fee is $400 for all three days and a maximum of twelve students will be accepted. To reserve a spot, a partial deposit is not required. Instead the full $400. should be sent. If the workshop does not make your entire check will be returned. A material list and directions to my studio will be sent when you sign up.
These classes are a combination of studio and Plein Air. I leave it up to the student as to where they want to paint.
We will discuss the simple yet essential concept of being able to mix any color the eye sees with a simplified palette.
Also how to get an accurate start or foundation for the painting to build on and to capture a moment in time, with the feeling of light and air in a painting.
I use a limited primary palette and I will show you the simple four steps to logically think through this mixing process from just Red, Blue and Yellow.
You are also welcome to use whatever choice of colors on your palette you are used to, but I will show you how a more simplified palette could work to your advantage. Many other topics will be discussed such as perspective, edges, depth, composition, contrast, etc.
We have limited lodging here for those who want to stay where the class is held. The fee is 100. per night, per person. Upstairs only. You can pay for your lodging after you arrive or add it to your workshop fee, your choice.
Students will be on their own for their evening meals. We are not far from town.
We still furnish lunch to those who are workshop students and also breakfast to the lodgers.
Feel free to call or email me if you have questions. For those who want to sign up, mail your $400. workshop fee and your contact info to the address below.
